experience of facilitating community
processes, identifying best practices, and
culling out and documenting key learning
from innovative community driven projects in
Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and

training of trainers workshops in the states
of Himachal Pradesh and Meghalaya in India.

the country. Formative research on 'Triggers
of Behaviour change in rural communities'
followed by designing a Sanitation IEC
manual for 'change-agents' in Himachal
Pradesh'. The assignment involved applied
research based on extensive stakeholders
consultation including secondary literature
survey and field investigations.
As a researcher, engaged in Formative
household research on water treatment,
storage and use in Andhra Pradesh. The
objective of the household research is to
"gain an in-depth understanding of
consumers' perceptions, attitudes, knowledge
and practices related to water treatment,
storage and use," by exploring a variety of
factors that influence middle- and
low-income households' HWTS behaviors in
Andhra Pradesh. Results will inform a
strategy to launch a commercial market for
HWTS products among low- to middle-income
consumers in India.
As a RWSS specialist, was involved in
contributing to the design and conduct of
training programmes for the capacity
building of grassroots functionaries engaged
in the implementation of Total Sanitation
Campaign (TSC) in the district of Bilaspur
in Chhattisgarh using community led total
sanitation (CLTS) approach within the
framework of an assignment funded by UNICEF.
Has also organized CLTS workshops in the

in designing and operationalising a
knowledge management (KM) strategy for rural
water and supply and sanitation (RWSS)
sector in the state of Maharashtra, which
also includes identification and
documentation of best practices as one of
the key KM tools. The assignment is
commissioned under The World Bank assisted
Jalswarajya Project in Maharashtra.Has also
lead the development of a Sanitation IEC
manual for rural Himachal Pradesh to be used
by community facilitators in TSC villages.

Aditi Paul, has joined CDKN Asia team as Country Programme Manager for India. She brings with her 12 years of experience in environment sustainability and climate change, her work including research, policy analysis, advisory, and strategy building. Aditi began her career in chemical industry, worked for EY in India and subsequently with PwC in India on sustainability and climate change practice. Prior to joining CDKN, Aditi was Manager for International Development with ICF International.
She holds an M.B.A. degree in Public System Management from the Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management, has a Bachelor’s degree in Environment and Water Management and loves to spend her free time with her 6 year old daughter who inspires her to build a magical world even during difficult times.
Vidya Nair |

Vidya Nair, has over fifteen years of work experience in India and outside. Having worked with corporate, consulting, civil society organisation and school, she brings with her an experience and appreciation for multiple perspectives and sensitivity towards working in a multicultural environment. She draws her strength from continuing to be a keen learner throughout her professional experiential journey in sectors ranging from education, overseas volunteering, active citizenship, health care, nutrition, resettlement and rehabilitation and waste management. Her adaptability and willingness to wear different hats reflects in a wide range of professional roles she has engaged in, ranging from primary and secondary social research, social impact assessments, proposal and report writing, planning and implementing communication campaign and outreach programs. She is happily engaged with The Mother's International School, Delhi in developing an experiential space for children to engage and learn about the world around them. She researches, develops learning materials and activities; and facilitates learning. Beyond cognitive development, the initiative finds its strength in Sri Aurobindo’s philosophy of education, that which brings about mental, physical, emotional development and channels an inner connect in children.
Interests/hobbies: Anupam is an ardent fan
of Clint Eastwood; and a sports enthusiast.
Forests, wildlife, beaches and economics are
a few things which excite Anupam to travel,
read and sometimes write.
Anupam a native of Chhattisgarh was brought
up in a boarding school Rajkumar college,
Raipur. After graduating from Delhi
University in 2011, his love for forests
made him complete his masters in Sustainable
Development Practices in 2013 from Birla
Institute of Management Technology. Before
joining LEAD, Anupam has worked as an intern
at Yunus center at AIT, in Bangkok, Thailand
and Partners in Change, New Delhi. Anupam
joined LEAD India from July 2013.
Role in the organization
Anupam is responsible for preparing program
reports, analysis of reports, monitoring,
review and communications of the ongoing
projects under guidance of Program Manager.
Anupam also provides support to field team
partner NGOs for implementation of projects.
Interests/hobbies: Jagdish likes spending
time with family and his kids outside
office. He takes keen interest in his kid's

of LEAD India.

Interests/hobbies: Exploring skills

things and cooking of south Indian dishes
and cake preparation.
About me/Work ex:
from Trivandrum. His father belongs to
Kerala and his mother belongs to Tamil Nadu.
Hence, other than English and Hindi he is
also proficient in Malayalam and Tamil.
He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Zoology from Kerala University (Mahatma
Gandhi College, Trivandrum). In addition, he
also has lower and higher grade certificates
in Typewriting from Kerala Board of
Technical Exams, Junior Grade Certificate in
Shorthand from Mumbai and a Diploma in
Desktop Publishing from Delhi.
Nagarajan has been with the LEAD Program
since 1996 when it was being managed by a
private consultant of Rockefeller
Foundation. When Centre for Research Ecology
and Environment (CREED) took over the LEAD
program in 1997, his services were
transferred and he worked with CREED till
end of 2000.Since January 1st, 2001 the LEAD
Programme in India is being managed directly
by a Society called LEAD-India. The services
of Nagarajan were again transferred to this
society. He joined as Program Coordinator,
Logistics and MIS, looking after the
networking area and coordinating the LEAD
India training program.
Role in the organization: Nagarajan is the
Head, Admin & LEADnet and is mainly
responsible for the Admin issues and
Networking within the Secretariat and with
the Fellows Community as also Coordinating
the Website and assisting as part of the

Designation: Accounts officer
Interests/hobbies: Mukesh likes to watch
romantic movies; he also enjoys reading
about India's freedom fighters. Mukesh in
his free time hangs out with friends and
plays football for fun.
About me/Work ex:
Mukesh graduated in B. Com
from Delhi University after which he has
worked with The creative marketing, Joginder
singh associates and Clear concept as
accountant. Mukesh has joined LEAD India
from July 2013.
Role in the organization: Mukesh looks after
accounts of LEAD India and assists manager
in preparation of financial reports.
Vaishali Kotecha |
Designation: Program Officer
Vaishali was born and brought up in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. She did her schooling from Rajkumar College, Raipur and then moved to Kolkata to pursue a graduation degree in B.A.(Majors) in Communicative English under the University of Calcutta. While in Kolkata, she started volunteering with an NGO named Make A Difference in 2014. In the first year (2014-15) she joined as an academic support teacher and took up a fellowship, the next (2015-16). She served as a Centre Head Fellow that year. In 2015, she also took up a fellowship at another NGO called Bharat Calling, Itarsi. She joined LEAD India as an intern for five months in January 2016 and joined full time in June 2016.
Interests/hobbies: Vaishali loves to read books and to listen to music. She is a keen learner and has a strong desire to travel and explore new places and cultures. She is also very keen on pursuing development studies at a later stage and get engaged in the sector.

Heena has got 5 years working experience and before joining LEAD India she had worked in the Singhania Hospital, Saket, where she had worked in hospital administration office as Office Girl. She joined LEAD India in July 2014 as Pantry Assistant.
Role in the organization: Heena ensures maintenance of the office on a day to day basis.
