SOME RESPONSES FROM FELLOWS/STAFF ON THE GTS:

CONGRATULATIONS on what sounds like a really successful GTS ... wish I could've been there. I hope the music event was also great !!.
Anil P.Tambay, C 6 Fellow, LEAD India

The high point of a visit to a forest has always been "sighting a tiger"- not this time, even though some of us saw two of them. It was the excellent organisation of the trip and the fact that the organisers had been able to bring all the stakeholders - from The Maharaja who had ' donated" the reserve to the government to the last man who is still struggling to get his land "patta" - the parti cipants could interact with them all and were able to appreciate the challenges and the need for consensus building - as managers of tomorrows planet- made this a memorable and worthwhile experience. Congratulations to all those who made this possible.
Prasanta Tripathy, C 6 Fellow, LEAD India

Congratulation on organizing very successful Global Training Session. Though it was a team effort but credit goes to you for actually translating the idea into action.  You, Pragya and others members of Lead-India deserve appreciation.  Kudos to Lead-India
Lokendra Thakkar, C 6 Fellow, LEAD India

It is extremely satisfying to read news of a thing well done.  Congratulations to all those who worked so hard to make GTS a thing to remember for those who participated in it. May there be many more such occasions for LEAD-India to celebrate
K V Devi Prasad, C 6 Fellow, LEAD India

Congratulations to all who worked hard, some for the last 6 months, to put up this show.
Krishnendu Bose, C 3 Fellow, LEAD India

I would like to congratulate you all on a very well conducted Global Training Session. It was wonderful to see on the last day how thrilled the Associates were with their LEAD experience and how closely they bonded over the nine days. Some of my memorable moments will be the DG's account of the Bhopal tragedy, the stay at the Pastoral Centre in Raipur run by those smiley Kerala nuns, the meeting with inspiring individuals of Ekta Parishad, the dancing and singing on the train back to Bhopal led by our African and Latino friends, not to mention the energy and enthusiasm expressed by everyone in national / Indian costume on the afternoon at the photo sessions / graduation session.

I was very impressed how the LEAD India team with support from my colleagues at LI pulled the whole event together in such a short time from never having run such a LEAD international event in India before. I regard the Bhopal GTS as not only a success for LEAD India but the LEAD network overall. Obviously it was a steep learning curve for many involved with much learning and insights gained by all during the process. I think there are many lessons to be learned for future international training sessions. I hope this experience will lead to our offices working more closely and collaboratively where we can. Well done on all your hard work.
Geetanjali Bedi, Programme Officer LEAD International

I reach Bamako safely on 5th of March around 14h local time as it was designated.

I would like to thank you BG and all Lead India Staff for all what you did us during our session in Bhopal and for particularly the support you brought me when I missed my flight.

Through this session we learnt much and beyond water governance.
Please say hello and thank to Ganesh, Divya Lata, Anupam Nidhi, Sanchi, Swati Pednekar and all those I can't remember the names.
Mahamadou Maiga, Fellow C11, Francophone Africa

Was GTS in Bhopal something different?

It was highly successful. But then, all GTS are organized on similar grand scale, at similar exotic locations, in similar highly efficient manner and with similar planning to minutest detail.  The GTS at Bhopal was no exception.

What puts it apart?

During my interaction with many associates during GTS, there was a common response about the participation of fellows from previous cohorts.  In fact, many of associates were quite surprised with this aspect as they did not see such involvement in their own country during NTS. Therefore the GTS at Bhopal was truly an event of Fellows of Lead India and all of them deserve compliments.   I would also like to mention here that apart from the list of fellows stated by Jill, many-many-more fellows were involved during various discussions in the planning and preparation stage.
How did it happen?
The key to the participation of such large number of fellows was the “Participatory Leadership” provided by Jill, the Executive Director of Lead India.  And this was done in most demanding situation under non conducive environment and under severe pressures. Jill has indeed started a new chapter in the history of Lead India Programme by getting participation of so many fellows.
Is this the end?

The GTS in Bhopal is over and we have the good memories of same. Now!!! Could there be some way of keeping the momentum of Fellows participation and involvement?  Could the fellows be involved similarly in NTS?  Could the fellows be involved in preparing course material and case studies for NTS?

As a Lead Fellow of Cohort 3 and as Fellow Director on the Board of Lead India, I feel, immensely satisfied and feel pride in successful implementation of GTS in Bhopal and I am thankful to all fellows who have contributed to GTS programme and also all those follows who were very eager but could not contribute to GTS due to lack of time and preoccupation in their work.

I congratulate, compliment, appreciate and thank Jill and also Nidhi, Nupur, Ekta, Pragya, Sanjeev, Nagarajan, and BG Menon for making GTS Bhopal a great success.
And this is only a beginning ……….
Dinesh Agrawal, C 3, Fellow Director, LEAD India

It is really honor for me to become part of LEAD Network and opportunity to meet few LEADers of this network in Bhopal was really great.

Thanks to Ekta for her wait & welcome at Delhi Airport and helping us in reporting and exit.

Special thanks to Lead India C-11 Associates particulary Chandra Bodhapati, Manisha and Rahul (fellow) & others who really made possible our Field Visit. It was blessing in disguise for me that I went to Bandavgarh-Forest field visit and this was my third and last choice. Living in resort in Forest, safari to Bandavgarh Park, visits and meeting with villagers in forest was really new and interesting aspect for me because most of my work is related to industries.

Thanx to Rodrigo, Sanjay, Girija, Marcelo, Katharine, Arun, Nalong, Muthu, Parag, Surya, Fritizia, Tunde Popooola, Mitulo Silengo, Anupam Didi and all others who really made this training interesting and full of fun.

Thanks to Dr. Archana and Parshant for their facilitation during Forest field trip.

Thanx to Jigyasa & Ritu for their company, taking me to beautiful city sites and last but not the least shopping.

Would remember jokes of Mushtaq, poetry of Hamid (which made long journey comfortable from Delhi to Bhopal and vice versa), dialogues of Arif and serious discussion of Irfan with Forest stakeholders and patience/impatience of Shafaq.

I hope we would start and continue half-meetings by email to share our experiences and exposures to make this network stronger.

Really missed C-11 associates from Pakistan who couldnt make it possible to go to India.
Mukesh Kumar, Associate C-11, Pakistan
